Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 burger buns
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp ketchup
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or stovetop griddle to medium-high heat.
- Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and shape into patties.
- Season the patties generously with salt and pepper.
- Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until cooked to your desired doneness. If using cheese, add a slice to each patty during the last minute of cooking.
- While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns.
- Spread mayonnaise and ketchup on the bottom bun.
- Layer the burger with lettuce, tomato, the cooked patty with cheese, and the top bun.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
